Our team wants to help you have the oral health and beautiful smile you want, and this can involve replacing missing teeth that have affected the look and function of your mouth. You may find that dentures are a great method to replace moderate or large areas of tooth loss.

Dr. Pedar Didriksen offers two types of dentures at our office, which are partial and complete. Both types of dentures can replace the loss of teeth and offer natural-looking results that are customized to your smile, but there are important differences between the two. Partial dentures may be appropriate if you have lost one or several teeth but still have surrounding natural teeth that can attach to the appliance and make it secure. Complete dentures are needed when you have lost all of your teeth, and they stay in your mouth by suctioning on to the gums and roof of the mouth.

Your dentures may cause some mild discomfort for your mouth when first placed, but your mouth can easily adjust over the next few days. For example, denture use may cause initial increased saliva production while your mouth becomes accustomed to the new appliance. Speaking and chewing while wearing your appliance can help you get used to it faster.

If you are struggling with tooth loss, we invite you to contact Pedar B. Didriksen DDS Family and Cosmetic Dentistry at 410-208-2900 today for an appointment with our doctor to discuss whether you should receive dentures in Ocean Pines, Maryland.
